It’s not every day you get to lunch with royalty. Myers Group MD – John Myers was one of the local businessmen who enjoyed lunch with His Royal Highness The Duke of York when he visited the University of Huddersfield’s Queensgate Campus to officially open the International Study Centre.
The International Study Centre (ISC) offers international students a range of specialist preparation courses for advancement to a wide range of degree subjects at the University.
The University currently welcomes over 2,000 international students from over 130 countries and the Duke met some of the students during in his visit on Friday 9th April.
The prince officially opened the International Study Centre before presenting awards for his own Community Initiative – a scheme set up to award community spirit and leadership throughout Yorkshire and Humberside.
Johnsons Wellfield Quarries has a long established association with the University having supplied stone for the Creative Arts Building and more recently the new Business Studies Building.
