News & Information JWQ Employees Give Blood Back 20 May 2010 We are very proud of our achievements as a company when it comes to giving blood. We set up our first Bloodmobile session in June 2008 and since then we have had visits 3 times per year at Myers Group Head Office, and as a result many employees have given blood, some of them for the very first time. JWQ employees – Nicola, James, Kyle, Paul & Colin, as well as many others, attended the blood session earlier this week. It was the first time for James so he was a little bit nervous. Nicola had coaxed him into it so she was there to lend support and see him through it. Kyle reassured him by letting him know it was only his second time and he definitely wouldn’t be there if it was too bad! Like many regular donors, Nicola & Paul don’t have a problem with giving blood at all, they have both attended on numerous occasions and are quite comfortable with the procedure. Our superstar at JWQ is Colin, he has given blood a record number of 79 times! For his efforts, Colin was awarded the Emerald Achievement Award for 75 donations in a ceremony held by the National Blood Service last year. Giving blood is so easy to do and is one of the most amazing things a person can do to help another. None of us know when we or a family member or friend, may need to rely on the National Blood Service. Do something amazing, help save a life, give blood!
