Magnificent Water Feature in Sheaf Square, Sheffield
Sheaf Square, to the front of Sheffield Railway Station is a £21.5M scheme to link the Station with Howard Street and the city centre and crowns the Station Gateway Project, which has, as intended, created a world-class gateway to the city. The client’s decision to use Crosland Hill Hard York Stone for the element of the scheme was due in part to both of the following: the requirements for a material with a high technical specification and the necessity for exacting production tolerances to accommodate the fluid dynamics of the highly complex design. Johnsons utilised two milling machines reading information from Auto-CAD and a complement of profiling hardware to achieve the production of this outstanding work of art. | |  |
